Prague dragon boats have a sporting activity that makes people feel part of something strong and quite unique. Dragonboating is a sport with more than 2000 years long tradition . Originated in an ancient legend brings along a great deal of Chinese culture. A ritual of a mysterious dragon awakening is a common opening of Dragonboat races events.
No experience is required to take part. If you can get at least 10 people together, you can bring a team and be part of this great event. One thing you can be sure of, you will have lots of fun!
So take your friends, jump in to the dragon boat and paddle to the drum beat!
Some info about the dragon boats
- Head in front and a tail in the back
- 10 benches for up to 20 paddlers ( sit in couples paddling each on their side, left or right )
- The rhythm is given by a drummer sitting in the front
- Steersman at the back of the boat keeps it in the right direction.
